Atomhawk Concept Brief: Mech Design

  • Due to rising global temperatures rainforests became massively overgrown and impenetrable for regular machinery to get in and extract resources.

Specialised mechs have been designed to navigate through this difficult terrain where tractors and tracks can’t get to and cut down and extract the precious trees within.

  • Atom Hawk are challenging you to design a realistic functional tree-felling forestry mech-based in the near future but heavily grounded in reality.

    Style – Realistic

Mood – We’d like to see a very realistic/functional mech that looks like it could work with real-world technology. Try to avoid ‘magical’ or super high-tech sci-fi ‘energy’ type tech. The keyword is ‘Industrial’.

This is an industry brief set as a timed test. You have 22.5 hours for the test. This translates as three 7.5 hour working days, the same hours we work at Atomhawk. Please keep within the timing plan, as the ability to work quickly and within a timescale is an important part of the test as we

  • Minimum Delivery and Time Plan:

    Stage 1 – 3-5 Thumbnail sketches (1 day)

Stage 2 – Refined and developed sketch / 3D based on selected thumbnails and feedback (1 day)

Stage 3 – ¾ front colour view of the mech (1 day)

Images should be at least 2500px wide on the longest edge

Stretch Goal 1 Minimum delivery + orthographic turnarounds (front, side, rear & breakouts if necessary)

Stretch Goal 2 Minimum delivery + stretch goal 1 + the mech in an environment for context
